Celebrating our Volunteers

Each winter we’ve made a tradition of celebrating the volunteers who make up our Serve Teams here at Sound City. The work of the ministry is made possible by all of your hard work. On January 20th, we got together over food, fun, ice cream, games, scripture and testimonies. It was a celebration full of laughter and joy.

We love these smiling faces!

One member said, “I loved being with everyone. It felt like family, and I was still beaming happy the next day.” The game (led by Kyle in the photo above) was clever and fun and only a little bit dangerous, as contestants ran through the crowd to find specific people and items.

Next, people shared some touching stories about their experiences serving. Early on in the evening, each volunteer had received tickets to use for a fun and exciting raffle, so we wrapped up the night by raffling off 10 special gifts. Bonnie is shown in the photo below with the movie and popcorn gift basket.

The one who welcomes you welcomes me, and the one who welcomes me welcomes him who sent me... And whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.
— Matt. 10:42 & 44

The whole event could be captured by the phrase “lighthearted togetherness.” Thank you everyone who gathered to celebrate, and especially thanks to all who serve one another as a body of believers. If you are not currently serving and want to get involved, click here
