Local Outreach

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
— Matthew 5:14-16

Do you have a desire to serve the hurting and the broken? Do you want to share with others the same grace and love that God has shown you? For anyone who is a follower of Jesus, it is impossible to read Scripture and not see a clear calling to love and serve the least of these (Matt. 25:31-46). There are countless ways that this can take place. At Sound City, we believe it’s important to reach people right where you’re at: in your workplace, in your neighborhood, at your local grocery store or coffee shop, and everywhere in between. God wants to use you to share and demonstrate his love to the world around you. For some, there is a unique opportunity to serve the community in a specific way. There are also many opportunities to serve alongside local organizations in our community who are already doing kingdom work. As a local church, we love to partner with these organizations.

Department of Children, Youth, and Families | Lynnwood

DCYF is the lead agency for state-funded services that support children and families to build resilience and health, and to improve educational outcomes. They accomplish this by partnering with state and local agencies, tribes and other organizations in communities across the state of Washington. Their focus is to support children and families at their most vulnerable points, giving them the tools they need to succeed.

To truly give all children the great start in school and life they deserve, DCYF was created to be a comprehensive agency exclusively dedicated to the social, emotional and physical well-being of children, youth and families—an agency that prioritizes early learning, prevention and early intervention at critical points along the age continuum from birth through adolescence.

Nourishing Network

The Nourishing Network is an organization made up of a collaboration of different groups and individuals within the community that work together to help meet the needs of the greater local community. Sound City has been working with the Nourishing Network to help provide meals and resources to those in need and specifically feeding children in the local school district who would otherwise not eat while away from school (weekends and over extended breaks).
